Spring is here! And we are ready to decorate!
One of our favorite things to do at the change of a new season is to welcome it with updating our home decor. Not only does the new decor help shift our minds to what lies ahead, but seasonal decorating is just pure and simply FUN!
Seasonal decor doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. In fact, helping our customers to quickly change their decor is one of the main reasons we design our custom, decorative tassels. All it takes to update your home decor for a new season are just a few strategic changes. Before you head out to stock up on all the new spring decor items, read our tips below for decorating your home for the spring with ease.
1. Add a pop of bright color
Yellow, pink, lavender, and teal…any spring color will do! Just a simple throw pillow or blanket on your couch is enough to draw the eye towards brighter days. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box here also. Consider switching out a dark picture frame for one in a lighter, brighter color.
2. Think floral
If bright or pastel colors aren’t your thing, no worries. Just think floral. Even a darker fabric with floral design will invoke the hallmark of the spring season: flowers!
3. Target the small spaces
It can be overwhelming to consider seasonal decor for the main living areas of a house, which tend to take up a larger space. Avoid that overwhelm by decorating your smaller spaces instead. Bathrooms are the perfect place to start and they can be updated in just a few minutes.
4. Go for green and white
As nature explodes all around us in the spring, the first color that bursts forth everywhere is green! The colors of green and white are a classic combination any time of the year, but they are particularly effective during the spring season because they so perfectly echo all that is happening outside.
5. Opt for light and breezy fabrics
The textures you choose to use in your home speak volumes. Let them speak for the spring by choosing lightweight and breathable fabrics. The nightstand cover by the bed here is perfect: it’s light in color and light in weight, and the crocheted design begs for fresh air.
6. Declutter, declutter, declutter
Spring cleaning is on everyone’s minds this time of the year. We all want to take a cue from nature to remove what we no longer need and make room for something new and fresh. Why not do the same with your decor? If you normally keep three things on your coffee table, consider only displaying one or two items instead.
7. Switch out your tableware
One of the easiest ways to refresh your decor is to change your casual tableware. It’s something that you will use multiple times everyday so it will be the perfect reminder that spring has arrived!
8. Fresh flowers…everywhere
When in doubt, add fresh flowers in every room. Flowers are the perfect pick-me-up to any room and nothing says spring more like bringing a bit of nature inside.
9. Update your lighting
With daylight savings time, the spring season naturally brings more daylight. Although this might also bring more natural light into your home, you may still want to consider adding additional options for lighting. Add a new standing lamp in a dark spot or a new table lamp where you can.
10. Add a custom tassel from us!
Hands-down, the easiest way to decorate for the new season is to display one of our decorative tassels or sit-a-bouts! If you update your lighting as in the previous idea, our tassels can easily hang from a lamp light switch. And our sit-a-bouts will sit right on any surface that needs a little spring pop of pizzazz!
Many of our spring tassels are available on our website, or you can find special release items on our Facebook page here.
