And the 2017 Color of the Year Is…

If you have ever tried to professionally identify a color, then you likely recognize the name Pantone. Known worldwide as the standard language for color communication, Pantone annually releases their Color of the Year to represent a color snapshot as an expression of the moods and attitudes that they are observing in our global culture.

We’ve covered the Pantone Color of the Year for 2015, Marsala:

Color of the Year 2015

And the two Colors of the Year for 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity:

And now without further ado, the Pantone Color of the Year for 2017 is…

Color of the Year 2017 | Greenery |

Here’s what Pantone says about their choice for 2017:

A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.

Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.

Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world. This shift is reflected by the proliferation of all things expressive of Greenery in daily lives through urban planning, architecture, lifestyle and design choices globally. A constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront – it is an omnipresent hue around the world.

A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.

Stay tuned for ideas on how to incorporate this color into your home. But for now, what do you think? Will you be adding shades of green to your decor this year?
