It was 49 degrees outside when I woke up this morning. I headed to the back porch with a steaming cup of coffee in hand and a blanket ready for my lap. And although I have noticed a few cooler mornings and heard the crows calling more and more, the feeling in the air this morning was something altogether different. It was glorious.
We are a little over a week away from the first official day of fall, which happens this year on September 23rd, but I can’t wait to welcome in all that this season brings with it. Lush, orange pumpkins waiting on the front porch to be carved, delicious soups and stews simmering in the slow cooker, that crisp and refreshing breath of air that greets me on a walk, and hours and hours of sweet time making memories with my family as we prepare to give thanks in November…these are the things that beckon me to pull out my jeans and sweaters and boots while saying a swift goodbye to all things summer.
After contemplating all the yummy coziness on its way, however, I walked back into house and stopped short in the kitchen. My house still smelled like an afternoon at the pool with daisies on the side. Not to say that those things are bad, but I wanted my sense of smell to join me in my anticipation of fall. Speaking of my bucket list, be on the lookout for our fall bucket list coming soon to the blog. We’d love to include some of your favorite things to do in the fall. Leave a reply below to let us know your fall favorites and we’ll feature it in our fall bucket list!
