It’s Labor Day Weekend, folks. First celebrated in 1882, The Labor Day holiday was created to pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. And while no one seems to know the exact origin of this sentiment, Labor Day has also become the natural endpoint for summer fashion.
It may be time to store our white pants until May, but we’re relieved to know that white rooms never go out of style. Classic, clean, and refreshing, a room designed in shades of white can make a grand statement in your home without a lot of fuss.
Tips for going white?
- Incorporate layers of contrasting textures in your furnishings to add depth and substance.
- Use varying shades of white within the same room to bring warmth and comfort to the space.
- Play with small pops of color. Hot pink? Turquoise? Lime Green? White rooms are the perfect background to feature a favorite color that may not fit anywhere else in your home.
- Combine the old with the new. White palettes are the perfect background for displaying classic favorites with new accessories.
In honor of all things that bring strength, prosperity, and well-being to our great country, and also our last weekend to wear white, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite white rooms here:
Traces of yellow, green, and brown really pop in this contemporary white room found on Houzz.
Although we are anxiously anticipating the crisp fall air and the warm smell of pumpkin spice lattes, we are really going to miss summer. So we hope you are wearing your white pants today.
